Updates on happenings with Covenant Advent Church
Published on Saturday, June 8, 2019
This week we are looking at the words of Jesus on the topic of separation of church and state. Christ answer to the question of the religious leaders who eventually would take Christ to the state to be killed over a religious dispute, showed that Pharisees were not very clear about the role of state in matters of worship and service to God. Those who serve God do so by an inner conviction, not by physical coercion. To be truly submitted to the Lordship of Jesus Christ one has to have an internal change that make him/her a citizen of the kingdom of God.
Luke17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation:
17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
How did Christ explain this internal experience of salvation to the Pharisees? Matthew 23:24-28
