Behold the Lamb of God which takes away the sin of the world

It is through sacrifice that sin is taken away or removed from our lives. The sacrificial death of Jesus for our sins is not just a judicial act of clearing records of past wrongs but also a means by which our broken relationship with God is restored. It is God’s intention to restore us to a place where He can be well pleased with us, and this is done through Christ dying to pay for past sins and taking away our bent to sinning. When we sin, we show disrespect to God and we hurt our fellow man.  Christ came to put an end to this.

John1:29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world 1:30   This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me. 1:35   Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;   1:36   And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!
