Trying to change a bad habit or taking on something new when we are older comes with a level of difficulty because we are “late out the starting gate”. The older we get the more life’s burdens can consume our time and leave us with little time to take on new challenges. Yet age has a big plus, which is the ability to look back and the fact that with most things in life you can say you have experienced them. Hence starting out later can allow you to be more committed to seeing the process through because your decision making has matured through experience. Sometimes it is good to pull back and observe life, in order to make clearer decisions.
Matthew 19:29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life. 19:30 But many [that are] first shall be last; and the last [shall be] first.
