Conversion happened to us because we saw and heard beautiful things from the word of God and those things had an impact on us. Before conversion we could not truly hear or see what was really needed in our lives, yet every year we would make resolutions, but never experiencing a fresh start. Daily and from year to year we were living in the same experience of chasing down youthful lust. The entrance of God’s word gave light so we could see, and His word thundered so we could hear. Through the convicting power of the Holy Spirit we experienced real significant change in all aspects of our lives. This change has allowed the great Physician to cause healing to take place physically, spiritually, and intellectually. Truly we can say that He has redeemed us and made us His own. God has given us an experience where we can have newness every morning and every year.
Matthew 13:13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand. 13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive: 13:15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and [their] ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with [their] eyes and hear with [their] ears, and should understand with [their] heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them. 13:16 But blessed [are] your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
