As in the Old Testament era so it is in the New Testament era, a heart religion is needed in order to walk with the Lord. We find in our text for today that a person who is walking with Jesus under the new covenant, will walk in the light of the law. The writing of the law in the heart of the believer does not mean that the believer ignores the law, but instead the believer honors the Ten Commandments in every decision they make, due to a heart change. We notice from the text below that Paul quotes the Old Testament stating what was always needed, is a heart change to do God’s will.
