Our Christian walk with the Lord is not very easy to explain because it cannot be distilled down to a simple phrase. Self-deception and deceivers have made our lives very complicated. We sometimes have faulty thinking and must deal with unscrupulous individuals complicating things. It would be nice to simply say “we are called to walk in love” and leave it at that. Yet, the ugliness of our current reality makes it that we must clarify and expand. The reality is some loose individual will try to “love” every sister in the church, so it is necessary to enlarge and clarify by adding we ought to walk in truth and keep the Ten Commandments.
Ephesians 5:1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 5:2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
2 John 1:4 I rejoiced greatly that I found of thy children walking in truth, as we have received a commandment from the Father. 1:5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.
